The number one rule for any bridesmaid is never to distract attention from the bride.

But for Kirsten Dunst, this may have been a little harder to stick to than for most.

The 30-year-old was radiant as she performed the role of maid of honour at her best friend's wedding in Santa Barbara yesterday.

She wore a full-length white and oyster pink dress, and had a pretty wreath of lavender in her hair.

Kirsten was clearly delighted to be such an important part of her friend's big day, and beamed as she stood next to her pal.

At one point she appeared to be chatting to the mother of the bride.

Though all the bridesmaids wore slightly different dresses, they stuck to a similar palette of pale pinks and nudes, making for a lovely overall effect.
