It's not the most romantic food or believed to have any aphrodisiac qualities, but the toasted cheese sandwiches Kirsten Dunst and beau Garrett Hedlund ate for lunch appeared to be having a heady effect on the pair.

The 30-year-old actress and her 27-year-old boyfriend held hands and looked lovingly into each other's eyes while lunching at the Artisan Cheese Gallery in Los Angeles this week.

Wearing a pair of Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunglasses and a floral chiffon dress, Kirsten toyed with her hair which was loosely tied back in bun and kept her face make-up free.

The couple, who have been dating for seven months after playing onscreen lovers in the upcoming On the Road, only had eyes for each other during their meal.

Lovestruck Kristen appeared to have lost her appetite however as she left most of her $10 cheese sandwich on the table.

The slender star sipped on a Coke and nibbled on a packet of salt and vinegar crisps instead.

Kristen can be seen next in the dark romantic comedy Bachelorette about three best friends. played by Dunst, Isla Fisher, and Lizzy Caplan, who reunite for the wedding of a mutual friend.

The bride is played by Australian actress Rebel Wilson, last seen in Bridesmaids.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel last week she was keen to point out that Bachelorette had nothing to with the ABC reality dating series of the same name.

'There's a lot more cocaine usage in the movie,' she laughed. 'It's a very dark and edgy comedy.'

Billed as the female answer to The Hangover series is already available on demand and will be released in theaters next month.

The hotly anticipated chick-flick has made history by hitting No. 1 on the iTunes Movies chart before its theatrical release.

Bachelorette, which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, opens in select theaters on Sept. 7.
