Spider Man 2012: Emma Stone, Kirsten Dunst And Other Ladies Who Got Tangled Up In Peter Parker's Web [PHOTOS]

"The Amazing Spider-Man" is set to hit theaters on July 3, and the film promises a fresh take on the comic book superhero story. Peter Parker will be played by British-American actor Andrew Garfield. His love interest in this installment, Gwen Stacy, will be played by actress and real-life girlfriend Emma Stone ("The Help, "Easy A"). Stone recently described the casting process for the film with the Daily Beast: "I had worked with Sony before on 'Superbad,' 'Zombieland,' and 'Easy A,' and they had talked with me about Mary Jane originally, because they didn't know where they were going to go with it. When it came back around to Gwen Stacy, they asked if I'd audition, and Andrew had already been cast. I looked into the saga of Gwen Stacy and it was stunning -- a huge slice of pop culture history, and it was something I really wanted to be a part of." Stone joins a long list of actresses who have played a love interest t

Our Say: Spotlight on mental illness

Image
Click photo to enlarge MAGNOLIA PICTURES Kirsten Dunst stars as a woman about to wed as the Earth faces destruction in "Melancholia." Crazed eyes. Shrill screams. Straitjackets. For years, Hollywood has portrayed mental illness in the same stereotypically horrific way. In film and television, mentally ill characters often are dangers to themselves and others, relegated to gray rooms in abandoned psychiatric wards where emaciated patients hobble down dim halls. In other cases, their illnesses are contrived ("Girl, Interrupted"), romanticized ("A Beautiful Mind") or simply never discussed ("Benny & Joon"). When a thoughtful film or TV show does come along, such as 2002's "The Hours," it rarely shows how the illness affects the entire family. The exception is Showtime's "United States of Tara," which ran from 2009 to 2011 and did a decent job of using humor to show the ripple effects of dissociative identity disorder.

Our Say: 'Homeland' and 'Melancholia' shed much-needed light on mental illness

James Marsden admits being scared about Kristen Dunst sex scene

London, June 20 ( ANI ): Actor James Marsden has revealed that he couldn't get the image of Kirsten Dunst as a child star out of his head, as he prepared for sex scenes with the actress in new movie 'Bachelorette'. The Enchanted hunk and Dunst's characters in the wedding comedy enjoy sex romps onscreen and while Kirsten was game, James had his reservations about the racy shoot. "Those are always daunting scenes when you see them on the schedule. You're counting the days," the Sun quoted him as saying. "Kirsten was like: 'Come on, whatever. Lets have fun doing it and let's go for it'." Marsden insisted that he had to try hard not to think about Kirsten's breakout role in 1994 drama Interview With A Vampire, when she was just 12-year-old. "Don't think that didn't cross my mind when we were on a bathroom counter in some random bar in New York. But she's as cool a chick as it gets," he said. "Once I knew

Marsden: Sex scene was daunting

James Marsden has admitted it was daunting shooting a sex scene with Kirsten Dunst. The Straw Dogs actor gets intimate with the Melancholia star in their new comedy Bachelorette and told E! Online he battled his nerves before the shoot. Those are always daunting scenes when you see them on the schedule, he said. Youre counting the days. James, 38, also confessed it was a bit odd filming the romp with Kirsten, 30, because he could remember her acting in movies as a child star. He laughed: Dont think that didnt cross my mind when we were on a bathroom counter in some random bar in New York. But shes as cool a chick as it gets. Once I knew Kirsten was game, it was much easier to do the scene. Bachelorette, directed by Leslye Headland, also stars Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan and is due to be released later this year.

Kirsten Dunst , Katy Perry , and Ashlee Simpson have all sported dainty flower hair accessories as of late, which is a totally fresh take on the floral crown look ( la Lana Del Rey ). And YES, the two are different! Crowns made of flowers are perfect for music festivals and fancy photo shoots, but we like how these ladies sported a more wearable version of the trend. Kirsten Dunst wove a gold and pearl flower headpiece into her braided updo, which matches perfectly with her white floral appliqu frock. Love! Katy stepped out in a '90s-inspired red dandelion print dress and studded motorcycle jacket ensemble, but added a touch of softness with her white rose headband. Ashlee Simpson looked all-out springy in her sheer whit

Vintage-Inspired Floral Headbands: Love Em or Leave Em?

Image
Pacific Coast News, Rex USA, Wireimage Fashion flashback alert! The hippie-chic look is back in full force these days, thanks in part to the resurgence of floral headpieces. We first saw the accessory at the Coachella Music Festival , where Vanessa Hudgens and Paris Hilton both sported Cult Gaia rose crowns ($75). Although we werent shocked to spot the topper at the festival since Woodstock-worthy ensembles are encouraged ,we were surprised to see these babies on the red carpet. For a party in Beverly Hills last week, Ashlee Simpson finished off her white Free People maxi dress with a floral headpiece; similarly, Kirsten Dunst brought some whimsical flair to the Cannes Film Festival thanks to the blooming Dolce & Gabbana headband she teamed with her crisp white textured sheath. Any type of headpiece is statement making whether its a fedora, fascinator or even a visor but this style definitely adds a distinct vibe to an outfit. However, we recommend proceeding with caution:

Here Comes the Bridesmaid: Kirsten Dunst Hosts BFF's Bachelorette Party

Gabriel Baragan/St. Regis Punta Mita Resort With friends like these, who needs travel agents? Or wedding planners, for that matter. Kirsten Dunst was a best friend par excellence this week, when she hosted a bachelorette party for her BFF since childhood (and frequent red carpet companion) Molly and four of their gal pals in Mexico's St. Regis Punta Mita Resort. "Being a maid-of-honor...not too shabby!" she tweeted , along with photos of her stay. We'll say. The three-day fiesta to say adios to singlehood read like a four-star brochure, with the gaggle of girls indulging in yoga on the beach, champagne dinners, a special BBQ on the terrace of their presidential suite, custom massages and being serenaded to live music from a Mexican quartet. And, of course, ample time for some beach loungingand seeing as it was a girls-only weekend, there was no sign of Kirsten's paramour (and subject of recent engagement rumors of his own) Garrett Hedlund . Viva la vacation! PHOT
