Kirsten Dunst has obtained a temporary restraining order against her French stalker... Poor Kirsten Dunst! Apparently the film star has had to deal with obsessed fan Jean Christophe Prudhon of Dijon for the last few weeks. He has turned up at her mother's home, sent dozens of letters and, generally, made himself a nuisance. According to the Kirsten's mum, Prudhon's letters, are "frightening and harassing" and she believes him to be "mentally ill". Kirsten Dunst plays a bride facing depression and global catastrophe in 'Melancholia'

Related By Steven Rea The Philadelphia Inquirer TORONTO - Kirsten Dunst has a confession to make. When Lars Von Trier contacted her - first by email, then by Skype - about a part in his new film, "Melancholia," she said yes, immediately. "But it was funny," Dunst recalls, "because when Lars offered me the movie, I wasn't completely sure which character he wanted me to play. There are two girls. And I was like, 'I'd love to do it! I'd love to do it!' "And I remember getting off the phone and thinking which one? Who am I? Justine or Claire?" Von Trier, it turns out, had Dunst in mind for Justine - a bride who shows up late for her own wedding reception and who wanders through the swank and cavernous halls of her family's mansion - a castle, really - in a state of benumbed calm. 'Melancholia': Kirsten Dunst discovers new levels of depression

Image
Magnolia Pictures Kirsten Dunst is the bummed out bride in "Melancholia." Let's give Lars von Trier credit. The Danish writer-director would never be satisfied with trite formulas and predictable scripts. He is fascinated with human dread, depression and the twisty caves of our interiors. He strives not only to get up close with his characters, but inside of them. This is commendable. And his strangely concocted films are memorable (parts of "Dogville" are still playing somewhere in the back of my brain), if not wholly satisfying. His latest mind-messer is "Melancholia." Kirsten Dunst plays Justine. We meet her on her wedding day. Although she has the requisite flowing white dress, stretch limo, handsome husband, elaborate reception and retinue of family and friends, she is miserable. Justine's clinical sadness is a main character in this film, as are her sister Claire (von Trier regular Charlotte Gainsbourg), who has taken great pains to throw Ju

Actress Kirsten Dunst does nonchalant power dressing in Los Angeles. BY Kate Finnigan | 08 December 2011 Kirsten Dunst got it pitch-perfect when she turned up at The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 Women in Entertainment breakfast, held yesterday in Los Angeles. Breakfast with 99 of the most glamorous, rich and important women in showbusiness is my idea of a bad start to the day. I think I'd rather call in sick than have to face eggs with Nicole Kidman and her agent. But should I ever find myself with a similar invitation, I'll be taking a leaf out Dunst's book and thinking a) navy blue and b) coat dress. In pictures: Kirsten Dunst's greatest fashion hits The allure of navy blue, the more thoughtful cousin of black, is tried and tested. But I've always had a penchant for a coat-dress. Dunst is wearing one by Burberry, which is fast making it a trademark piece. Back in the '80s my mum used to wear a black and brown style that confused my grandfather no end -
