Kirsten Dunst prefers solo elevator ride

Kirsten Dunst reportedly likes to ride in elevators alone. The American actress spent time at the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood earlier this week. It is a renowned celebrity hangout and it has been claimed many of the other guests there were left dumbfounded when staff refused to let them travel to another floor with the 29-year-old star. They said Kirsten Dunst was going up and down. They said nobody else could enter and asked other guests to take the stairs, a source told New York Post. There is some confusion about whether the actress was actually in the elevator at the time or not. Among the other A-listers at the establishment on Tuesday evening were Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. Kirstens spokesperson couldnt be contacted to discuss the claims. The actress is thought to have a special fondness for elevators. Several years ago she was quoted as saying her first ever smooch took place inside one. It was in eighth grade on a school trip to Washington DC. His

New on DVD

LOS ANGELES -- This week there are four exceptional performances to check out. Two were Oscar nominated (George Clooney in The Descendants and Michelle Williams in My Week with Marilyn) and two could well have been (Kirsten Dunst in Melancholia and Charlize Theron in Young Adult). Alexander Paynes The Descendants takes place in Hawaii, where Matt King (Clooney) heads a family that is preparing to sell their land for development, a deal that should make them rich. But theres no joy for him, because Matts wife lies in a coma from a boating accident and isnt likely to wake up. Now he must take care of his daughters, 10-year-old Scottie (Amara Miller) and her disaffected teenage sister, Alexandra (Shailene Woodley). Worst, he finds out that his wife was cheating on him with a real-estate agent (Matthew Lillard). Like in Paynes other films, Election, About Schmidt and Sideways, The Descendants is about American males adrift. A marvelous Clooney is able to make us forget his movie-star looks

Movie review: Melancholia

Image
By John Lui my paperThursday, Mar 15, 2012 Melancholia(M18) Drama/130 minutes Rating: ***1/2 The topic of depression is often depicted by those who suffer it in a tone that is anything but depressing. Trust risk-taking writer-director Lars von Trier to raise the stakes. The viewer is asked to follow the depressed Justine (Kirsten Dunst) as she rips her life apart on her wedding day. Dunst delivers the performance of her career as Justine, an advertising genius being married to a wonderful man in a posh manor. As the movie goes on, largely over the course of the day-long wedding, the rot underneath surfaces. For more my paper stories click here .

'On the Road' Movie Finally Getting Released; Watch the Trailer

You'll recall way back in 2010 there were some Kirsten Dunst sightings in S.F. when the crew was here shooting this On the Road movie , directed by Walter Salles. Now we finally get a glimpse of the trailer, which is short on S.F. scenes but looks like it might be good. And Kristen Stewart looks like she's having a lot more fun as the 16-year-old Maryann, wife of Dean Moriarty (played by Garrett Hedlund), than Kirsten is. Quickly following On the Road in theaters should be this movie of Big Sur , which wrapped shooting here last spring, based on the novel which Kerouac wrote quite a few years later, after he was already alcoholic and sad. So it should be a very Kerouac year...

On the Road star-studded film trailer released (Video)

Image
March 12, 2012 - 16:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The first trailer for the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's literary classic, On the Road , has emerged online, The Hollywood Reporter said. While the author of the 1957 semi-autobiographical adventure tale had aspirations of Marlon Brando taking the film to the big screen, the film will finally come to fruition later this year, with Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries) directing. Sam Riley stars as Kerouac's alter ego Sal Paradise, while Garrett Hedlund portrays best friend Dean Moriarty. Kirsten Dunst, Tom Sturridge, Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Steve Muscemi and Elisabeth Moss round out the cast, but the most revealing part of the just-released trailer is perhaps Kristen Stewart, portraying Dean's young wife, Marylou. The oft shy and awkward Stewart attempts to break out of her Twilight shell again: first she did it as a young prostitute in Welcome to the Rileys, then she rocked out as Joan Jett in The Runaways, and now she

Stewart goes topless for movie trailer

Twilight actress Kristen Stewart shed her clothes for her new movie On The Road. The shy star breaks out of her shell in the adventure drama, which also stars Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams, Viggo Mortensen and Steve Buscemi and is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival later this year. The young beauty shows quite a bit of skin in the film.A recently releasedtrailer for the project shows a naked Stewart riding in a car between fellow undressed co-stars Garret Hedlund and Sam Riley. The 21-year-old actress' modesty is maintained by a clever camera angle. The clip also shows Stewart rolling a cigarette and letting her hair down dancing at a party. Copyright WENN.com

Kirsten Dunst has lost her cat

Kirsten Dunst's cat is missing. The 'Melancholia' star's beloved feline Tazzy reportedly escaped from her Californian home a few weeks ago and the actress has been searching desperately for her pet, though she fears she may never return as the animal wasn't wearing a collar. A source told National Enquirer magazine: "Kirsten is heartbroken. She and boyfriend Garrett Hedlund put up posters all around her neighbourhood offering a reward and hoped someone would turn Tazzy in but no luck so far. "Tazzy wasn't wearing a collar so it's possible she'd be mistaken for a stray." Kirsten isn't the only star to have recently lost a pet. Kendall and Kylie Jenner have been searching desperately for their Chihuahua Dolce after he escaped from a friend's house. Kendall said recently: "We still can't find him. We've had him for like 10 years. "He was staying with our friends for a little while. They've been friends for a long

Watch The Trailer For Walter Salles' Long Anticipated 'On The Road'

At long last, proof that Walter Salles' "On The Road" is indeed coming soon to a theater near you has arrived via this French trailer. Suspected to make its way to the Cannes Film Festival this Spring, Salles' adaptation of Jack Kerouac's beloved book has been anticipated for some time. Starring an impressive cast including Sam Riley, Kristen Stewart, Garret Hedlund, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, Terrence Howard, Steve Buscemi and Elisabeth Moss, the film went into production back in the summer of 2010. Its US release date is still to-be-determined, but its hitting theaters in the UK in September and its likely a plan for the US will materialize (perhaps during Cannes) and a similar release date will occur. Until then, there's a trailer to hold over the many fans of the 1957 book eagerly anticipating its first adaptation:
