Kirsten Dunst (Getty Images) Kirsten Dunst's sexy 'do is a dressed-up version of the humble ponytail. It's also a quick look that's easy to duplicate. If you're feeling inspired, you could turn the messy braided portion into a more polished plait, or add a lot more curl to the entire style.

Listed below are instructions for recreating Kirsten's ponytail along with a video I found on youtube that shows how to duplicate a similar style worn by Eva Longoria.

1. Begin with a subtly wavy texture. Either activate natural waves by using a diffuser attachment when blow drying, or use a large-barreled curling iron to add some bend to straighter hair.

2. Section out bangs and a few longer pieces around the face to be styled after you've created the ponytail.

3. Back comb hair through the crown and the back of the head.

4. At about the middle of the back of the head, pick out three half-inch pieces of hair and begin a messy French braid. Pull random pieces of backcombed hair into the braid as you continue braiding toward the bottom of one ear. The messy French braid only needs to be about two to three inches long.

5. After the messy portion of braid is completed, draw all the hair loosely back and secure in a ponytail behind your ear.

6. Style bangs as usual or sweep longer tresses off to the side and add some additional wave to the longer pieces at the temples.
